1-1 Sessions

Sometimes we know that something needs to change, even if we’re not quite sure what that change needs to look like.

You might be living with pain or feeling overwhelmed. Perhaps something from the past continues to affect you, or you keep finding yourself caught in patterns that are no longer helpful. At other times, there may be nothing obviously ‘wrong’, but you know you don’t feel quite as you would like to.

You don’t need to know what kind of support you need before getting in touch. We can start with what is happening for you and what you would like to be different.

What might bring you here?

People come to see me for many different reasons.

If you’re well and enjoying life to the full, you may not need much from me. But if you’re in pain, full of worry, exhausted, stuck, or simply know that something isn’t quite right, then there’s plenty for us to work with.

You may want to understand yourself more deeply or make sense of something you have been through. Sometimes the issue is quite specific. Other times, it is harder to put your finger on.

You may simply have reached a point where the way you have been managing things no longer seems to work, and you would value some support in finding a way forward.

How we might work together

Because we are complex and experience life in such individual ways, I adapt the work to meet you as you are. Sometimes the focus is physical. At other times we might be exploring how you think, feel or respond. Often, these things overlap.

I draw on a broad therapeutic background, including body-based work, mindful awareness, compassion-focused approaches and conversational ways of working. Rather than deciding in advance what method you need, we can pay attention to where change feels possible and what seems most useful as the work develops.

This might involve understanding something more clearly. At another point, the important thing may be allowing something to settle, shift or be experienced differently. The aim is not to fit you to a particular approach, but to find a way of working that feels appropriate to you.

Finding the right way forward

You may already know that you are looking for a particular kind of support. If so, you can find more information about Craniosacral Therapy, mindfulness and the other methods I use under Therapeutic Approaches.

If you don’t know, that’s fine too.

We can take some time at the outset to explore what has brought you here and what you would like from our work together. Sometimes one approach feels clearly appropriate. At other times, sessions naturally draw on different elements as your needs change.

Fees

A first session is £78, and I usually allow up to 90 minutes so there is plenty of time to explore what has brought you and how we might work together.

Follow-up sessions vary in length depending on what works best for you and the nature of the work. Some people benefit from more time, while for others a shorter session is enough. We can agree this together as the work develops.

Reduced fees may be available for longer-term work, and I keep a limited number of concessionary places for people on low incomes or experiencing financial difficulty.

If you need to cancel or rearrange, please let me know by noon the day before your appointment to avoid being charged the full fee.

Getting started

If you would like to work with me, you can book a session directly.

If you are unsure whether this is right for you, you are also welcome to get in touch first. We can have a short, confidential conversation about what is happening and whether I might be able to help.
